Where?
New Barnet is a largely residential suburb in the north eastern corner of the London Borough of Barnet. It grew up round the railway station which opened in the 1850s. It directly adjoins London's green belt.
New Barnet is surrounded by the following areas:
- East - Cockfosters
- South East - East Barnet
- South West - Oakleigh Park and Whetstone
- North West - High Barnet and Monken Hadley
- North - Hadley Wood
New Barnet lies within the 'Chipping Barnet' parliamentary constituency and is also covered by three local government wards:
- East Barnet Ward - east of the railway line
- High Barnet Ward - west of the railway line and north of Station Road
- Oakleigh Ward - west of the railway line and south of Station Road
