Documents
An outline of ASDA's proposed development were also in an A5 booklet available at the exhibition, and also as a download from their project website.
A slightly more detailed A4 brochure was also published in June.
Publicity
First (only) news of ASDA'a public exhibition came at the end an article in the 29th May 2008 edition of the Barnet Times.
"ASDA's plans can be viewed at the Salvation Army centre, in Albert Road, on June 6 between 3pm and 8pm, and on June 7 between 10am and 4pm."
ASDA did not place adverts in either of the two local papers prior to their exhibition.
The campaign group also distributed our own leaflet to thousands of local residents informing them of the public exhibition being held by Tesco, and as a last minute Stop Press addition, ASDA's exhibition.
Due to their almost non existent publicity, additional exhibition dates were arranged for:
Friday 13th June 10am - 8pm
Saturday 14th June 10am - 4pm
These extra dates were again not advertised in the local press, although a leaflet was distributed to some homes in the area.
Following the two exhibition sessions, ASDA took out a full page advert in one of the local papers thanking people for attending and publicising their project website.
